You can place a hold on a title that is currently checked out or in cataloging by clicking the "Request" button that appears at the top of the book record in MUSCAT.
You will then be prompted for your Gettysburg user name and password. Once you're logged in, mark your pickup location as "Circulation Desk" and enter "Place Hold" in the text box.
For title that is "in cataloging," the title will be quickly cataloged and an email will be sent to when it's ready for pickup at the Circulation Desk.
For a title that is "checked out," you will receive an email when it's available for checkout at the Circulation Desk based upon the order in which your hold was placed. For example, there may be several people with holds on a popular title. You will be contacted once the holds placed before you have been filled.
