How can I access the Washington Post?

You can access the Washington Post through MUSCAT Plus or the A-Z Database page. Our subscription to the Washington Post provides users with access to the daily Washington Post from the past 15 years to present.

Do I need to create an account?

While on campus, or accessing remotely through the library websites, no account creation is required. However, if you wish to use some of the more personalized features such as newsletters and saving stories for later, you can create an account with your gettysburg.edu email address. Creating an account will also let you use the Washington Post's mobile app.

How do I create an account?

  1. Visit https://www.washingtonpost.com/subscribe/signup
  2. Enter your gettysburg.edu email address, agree to the terms of service and click Continue
  3. Choose a password and Create your Account
  4. To activate your Gettysburg subscription, click on your name in the upper right corner of the page. Click My Post, and then click Manage Account
  5. Make sure your email address is verified. If it's not verified, click Send a verification email to verify the address.
  6. Once verified, go to the Subscriptions and Billing tab. Click Activate free digital access, and you're all set!

Why am I seeing advertisements/popups?

Our site license allows access to WashingtonPost.com beyond the paywall but does not provide an ad-free experience. The adverts seen may include subscription advertisements; you can ignore these.
