VHS
There is a VHS player connected to a TV in the back of the ground floor, near the microfilm readers.
DVD
DVD players are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk for a 24-hour period. They may be taken out of the library.
Most of our DVD players need to be plugged into a computer to be used, and will require a media player application to play the movie:
Windows 10/11
We recommend the VLC media player for use with DVDs on Windows computers. Download and install VLC. When you first insert a disc, Windows may ask what you’d like to happen with DVD movies, and you can choose VLC as the default player.
If VLC does not open by default, you can open the DVD by choosing Media > Open Disc… from the menu.
Choose the disc drive containing the DVD, and click “Play.”
MacOS
Apple computers come bundled with an application called DVD Player. When a DVD is inserted into the drive while connected to a MacBook, it should automatically open in DVD Player. If you open DVD Player while a DVD is inserted in the drive, it will automatically recognize the movie and begin playing.
