The library provides access to the following resources to auditing students:

  • Physical library materials: Auditing students can request a borrower's card in order to check out physical materials (books, DVDs) from the collection at Musselman Library. When logging into MUSCAT Plus, auditing students should use the Community and Alumni option. Auditing students will not have access to Interlibrary Loan services.
  • Building access: Library building access and use is available until 8pm, 7 days a week, when classes are in session. Scanning and microfilm stations are available for use.
  • Research help: Visit the Research Help Desk (located on the main floor of the library), email ask@gettysburg.edu, or call 717-337-6600 to speak to a librarian. See our Research Help page for more information.
  • On-campus electronic resource access: Library electronic resources are accessible while on-campus by using a personal device (laptop, tablet, or phone) connected to the campus wireless network (gbcwifi) or by using a library lab computer. Library lab computers require a network login or the use of a guest USB key. Some library resources will still require a network login, even when accessing from on-campus. For on-campus computer and Wi-Fi use in the library, visit the Wi-Fi and computer access page.

The Gettysburg College IT department is responsible for the following:

  • Moodle login: Auditing students will receive a Moodle login which will allow access to their course Moodle site.
  • Network login:  A network login is required for off-campus access to library electronic resources such as e-books, article databases, and streaming films, as well as the ability to login to a library lab computer without a guest USB key. Auditing students do not automatically receive a network login; contact IT for additional information.
